28 Weeks

12 weeks to go!!! Kylie is super active lately, kicking and squirming all the time. It seems like she's moving around in there more than she's not and sometimes when she kicks hard it feels like my whole body shakes. I think we are in for one active child. My belly is growing every day and yesterday I looked at myself in the mirror and had to do a double take. My belly looked like it had gotten so much bigger all of a sudden! I am still wearing all of my regular jeans, but I'm afraid that those days are numbered and one day I'm just gonna wake up and literally have nothing to wear. I really need to find somewhere to get maternity pants that run in small sizes before that happens. I had to finally retire the pink and green tank tops I've been wearing in my weekly pictures because they are getting too short to cover the belly!

I had an appointment on Tuesday and all looks well. I got a surprise ultrasound even though I don't think I was really supposed to so I got a very quick peek at our baby and she looks so big already. She also looks somewhat squished in my belly already. She has her head next to my left hip and her body diagonally with her legs at the upper right portion of my belly, which is what I suspected based on her movements. I HOPE this means it will be easier for her to turn completely head down by the time she is getting ready to make her appearance. I asked the doc if she was still a girl, and she said she didn't see anything to make her think otherwise, but the cord was bunched up in between her legs so you really couldn't tell.

I'm starting to work on her nursery and having a hard time deciding on what bedding to choose but right now I'm leaning towards this one. I'm also making a mobile/decoration to hang over her crib which is a lot more time consuming than I thought it would be, but looks cute so far.

Weekly Update: By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

  1. Cute Bed set!! Have you started your registry?!?! Better get working! What color are you painting the nursery? We were going to make Sadie's bedding, but from what we are told it will be a little difficult to make the bumper...so we shall see what happens! Glad your belly is getting bigger and that you have a growing little girl!

  2. That was one of our choices in Sophie's nursery too. We will be finishing her room tonight and will post pics on my blog most likely tomorrow.
